Amber German lager with a toasty malty character and low to medium hop character. This style of beer is called Marzen for the month in which it was brewed. When brewing resumed again in the fall, the remaining stocks of Marzen were brought out for Oktoberfest. By this means, a single style of beer came to be known by the two names of Marzen and Oktoberfest. Marzen has an ABV of 5.4% and an IBU of 23.
